Legendary producer and guitarist [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Nile Rodgers[/lastfm] of the disco/funk 70′s group [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Chic[/lastfm] is all smiles in the picture above which was taken at the beginning of October.  But on October 27th, Rodgers was hit hard when he discovered that he was suffering from an aggressive form of cancer.

Rodgers is currently bravely sharing his experience with his  cancer battle on his Walking On Planet C blog.  Here’s an excerpt:

Cancer is horrifying. It makes you think a lot. My ex-partner passed away and most people don’t realize many songs they sing along with every day he did. Maybe, I was just afraid of dying and feeling sorry for myself – cancer also makes you do that. But my sadness was real. Cancer is a humiliating disease and I wanted to feel dignified about something. I wiped the tears from my eyes and told the diner’s staff that I wrote the song they were singing. I finished my coffee, smiled, hugged everybody and waved goodbye.

Rodgers shows amazing strength and courage in his blog and we wish him all the best for continued Good Times for years to come!
