The Eli Foundation, a non-profit charity begun in Michigan 2007 by Trina King in memory of her son, Eli Florence, who passed away that same year after a long battle with a rare form of Leukemia, is currently in Florida as part of their efforts to broaden awareness of their work nationwide. The Foundation seeks to help families with members suffering from AML by providing financial assistance, medical advocacy, and emotional support. You can find out more about their ongoing work by going to www.elifoundation.com.
SUNNY Across Central Florida recently spoke to Mrs. King about the organization, which is, in fact, a product of her son’s vision in his last days, as well as the difference they’re making in the lives of families dealing with this debilitating disease.
