[photogallerylink id=57986 align=left]“There’s no place like home, there’s no place like home”. That was the chant that Dorothy repeated to get back to Kansas while clicking the heels of her Ruby Red slippers in the “Wizard of Oz”. Now, according to moviefone.com, you can own those slippers yourself!

You’ve got about a week and a half to save up some money and then head to Los Angeles for the Profiles in History auction where the world famous ruby red slippers Judy Garland wore in the iconic 1939 classic will be auctioned off to the highest bidder on December 16th.

This pair is only one of the four final pairs that remains from the movie’s original production over seventy years ago.  Of the other three pairs, one pair is on display at the Smithsonian Museum, another pair is currently held in another private collection, and the third pair was actually stolen from the Judy Garland museum in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

AND YOU CAN OWN THEM…but wait…it will come at a price.  Experts believe that the shoes will likely fetch a King’s ransom.  Estimates are somewhere between two and three million dollars…you heard right…$2-$3 MILLION!

Rhys Thomas, author of ‘The Ruby Slippers of Oz’ says that they are, “They are the holy grail of Hollywood memorabilia.”

Wouldn’t it be ironic if the top bidder lives in Kansas?!
