[photogallerylink id=20939 align=left]It seems that the “death hoax” is taking on a life of its own these days.  A couple of weeks ago the alleged demise of Jon Bon Jovi went viral, and now it’s Cher‘s turn.

According to the site GossipCop, “RIP Cher” became a trending topic on Twitter.  The site claims that the origin of the rumor came from a joke.  Cher, who is a pretty prolific Twitterer herself, hadn’t posted anything since January 21st.  That could have also possibly helped to fuel the rumor.

As she sang in Burlesque, “I am far from over, you haven’t seen the last of me!”
