Q: On this date in 1985, in response to the vastly negative public response to “New Coke”, Coca-Cola acknowledged what has since been regarded as one of the greatest marketing blunders of the 20th Century by returning their original formula of Coca-Cola, branding it “Coca-Cola Classic”, to store shelves. Coca-Cola Classic would then go on to outsell both New Coke and Pepsi that year, prompting speculation that the whole thing was an elaborate and expensive marketing ploy. How many days did “New Coke” last on store shelves before Coca-Cola realized their mistake and brought “Old Coke” back?
