It’s an image that became synonymous with the Rolling Stones’ 50 & Counting Tour, as well as their 50th anniversary compilation GRRR!, and now it can be yours in the form of artwork from artist Walton Ford and the Paul Kasmin Gallery.
Granted, it’s going to set you back a few hundred dollars, three to be exact, but a limited numer of only 1,000 have been produced.
In addition, for $7,500 you could also pick up a limited edition etching of the same image.
In creating the image, Ford was inspired by watercolor portraits of King Kong he used in his 2011 exhibit at the Paul Kasmin Gallery. According to the gallery’s site, Ford “conceived the idea of incorporating the iconic Rolling Stones lips to capture the rebellious spirit of one of the world’s greatest rock bands.”
