Happy #NationalGrilledCheeseDay!

There’s nothing better than a delicious, gooey, golden-brown grilled cheese sandwich when you’re craving some extreme comfort food. Pair it with a piping hot bowl of tomato soup, and you’re in heaven!

To celebrate this cheesiest of all days, we’re taking a look at some of the best places throughout the City Beautiful to get your grilled cheese on.

Toasted
Locations in Winter Park and Lake Nona
1945 Aloma Avenue, Winter Park, Fl 32789 407.960.3922
10783 Narcoossee Road, Orlando, Fl 32832 407.930.8682

One of the few local establishments dedicated to the grilled cheese sandwich, Toasted was born in Winter Park in 2013. According to their website, the “concept offers crafted grilled cheese & burgers made with premium, locally sourced ingredients that are always prepared in house.”

33 & Melt- A Grilled Cheese Bar

Another local restaurant devoted to the grilled cheese, 33 & Melt offers up craft beer and wine as well. From their website: “We offer a variety of delicious and unique gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches and appetizers that we prepare in house and fresh daily. We offer select craft beer that includes several local breweries and small estate wines by the glass.”

Tom + Chee
12531 FL-535, Orlando, FL 32836 321.395.4930

This national chain has one location in Orlando close to Lake Buena Vista and specializes in everyone’s fave…(tom)ato soup and grilled (chee)se! According to their menu, this place even offers up a grilled cheese donut for a cheesy dessert.

AND…today, April 12th, you can pick up the classic grilled cheese for just $2 in honor of National Grilled Cheese Day!

The Hammered Lamb
1235 N Orange Ave, Orlando, FL 32804 407.704.3200

In addition to their libations, The Hammered Lamb also serves up some great food, including their very own grilled cheese. A combo of cheddar, mozzarella and goat cheese, with spincach and sauteed apples, it’s served on a thick Challah bread along with the house made boozeberry jam. You can even up the ante by adding some tasty Pecan Wood Smoked Bacon.

The Hideaway
516 Virginia Dr, Orlando, FL 32804 407.898.5892

No list of great places for grilled cheese would be complete without a classic bar and grill, and The Hideaway, just around the corner from The Hammered Lamb, is just that. Also known for their cheeseburger, The Hideaway offers up a standard grilled cheese consisting of American cheese on your choice of grilled bread, as well as the grilled cheese “all the way,” which includes tomato and bacon as well.
