The lady that sang with Elton John and dated one of his guitar players, Kiki Dee, is 70 today.

Let’s start on this day in 1966, when The Rolling Stones began recording “Paint It, Black.” Brian Jones played the sitar on the track after George Harrison showed him how to play it.

On this day in 1974 “Seasons In The Sun” by Terry Jacks was the #1 song.

On this day in 1978, Billy Joel was awarded a rare platinum single (that’s 2 million copies sold) for “Just The Way You Are.”

Donnie Osmond, Michael Jackson, and all the Disney favorites were on hand for “Disneyland’s 25th Anniversary,” on this day in 1980.

The last episode of “The Cosby Show” was taped in New York, on this day in 1992, it aired on April 30th.

Let’s jump to this day in 2000. Eric Clapton became the first person inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame three times: as a member of the Yardbirds, as a member of Cream, and as a solo artist. He is still the only 3 time Rock and Roll Hall of Famer.

And finally, it was on this day in 2012, that Bruce Springsteen released “Wrecking Ball,” his 17th studio album. It was named best album of the year by Rolling Stone Magazine.
