John Lennon released his version of “Stand By Me” on this day in 1975.

On this day in 1988, Ten years to the day of having the #1 song on the radio, Andy Gibb died from myocarditis following a long battle with cocaine addiction. He was 30.

It was March 10th, 2000 and Vince Gill married Amy Grant. It was the second marriage for both and they are still together.

We jump to this day in 2005, when the original lead singer of Molly Hatchet, Danny Joe Brown, passed away from renal failure at 53.

On this day in 2009, Paul McCartney was booked to perform at the 4,000 seat venuie at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Tickets, at $750 each, sold out in seven seconds.

How bout this for a birthday present? On this day in 2015, on his 38th birthday, a jury found that Robin Thicke’s song “Blurred Lines” infringed the copyright of Marvin Gaye’s “Got to Give It Up” and awarded $7.3 million to Gaye’s family.

One year ago today we lost Keith Emerson. He committed suicide at 71.
