Britain, Canada, Italy and the Netherlands were found to be the countries where babies cry the most. In contrast Denmark, Germany and Japan were found to be countries where newborns cry the least.
The study found that babies cry about 2 hours a day in the first two weeks. Their crying only gets worse as the weeks go by, averaging 2 hours and 15 minutes of crying at six weeks.
The research will help parents see if their child is crying at an average rate or not. If their child does not fall within the normal range, they should seek extra support.
