Carrie Fisher Tribute At ‘Star Wars’ Celebration

The force is with Orlando for the next few days, as the official Star Wars Celebration takes place at the Orange County Convention Center.

It got off to an emotional start today with a very special tribute video saluting the recently deceased Carrie Fisher, best known to fans of the film as Princess Lea.

The video, which was played today at the end of the 40th anniversary panel, includes co-stars Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Billy Dee Williams as well as Star Wars mastermind George Lucas.

The video tribute, which included the David Bowie song “Rebel, Rebel,” was introduced by Fisher’s daughter, Billie Lourd, who, according to Rolling Stone, said,  “My mom, like Leia, wasn’t ever afraid to speak her mind and say things that might have made most people uncomfortable, but not me and not you. That was why she loved you, because you accepted and embraced all of her.”
