What motivates millionaires? Their next million! Or in the case of Sylvester Stallone, a past million…or two…or more!
According to TheRichest.com, Sly is worth about $400 million. But, that’s just NOT enough when somebody owes you money.
The actor who played John Spartan in the 1993 Warner Brothers flick “Demolition Man” insisted on his take per his contract…and his attorneys wanted to ensure that he got it! He kinda did and it still may not be enough.
Rocky’s legal team pursued the “greedy” studio when he said that they didn’t pay up the mullah that they’d agreed to when the film came out almost 25 years ago in ’93.
According to a lawsuit filed this week, the actor should have gotten a minimum of 15% of the film’s proceeds if it reached the $125 million plateau. Well, based on the accountants at Warners, the flick had lost $67 million by their estimation, and Stallone wasn’t to receive another cent above and beyond what he’d already received.
Per the Hollywood Reporter, after almost over two and a half decades of not having gotten the cash Sly felt he deserved, he unleashed his legal team on the studio. They found an accounting error was the basis for not having gotten any additional funds, and the studio paid Stallone $2.8 million.
However, that still enough for Stallone, since, now he wants additional compensation for interest and damages.
We’ll keep you posted. We’re sure he’ll “keep fighting” til he wins.
