By Michael Rafferty

The Ride of Silence is a worldwide event that honors bicyclists killed by motorists, promotes sharing the road and provides awareness of bicycling safety. It is a slow ride that will take place simultaneously all over the world on Wednesday, May 17th at 7:00 p.m. You can take part in events in Central Florida in Orlando, Clermont, Lakeland and Tampa or you can hold your own event in your own neighborhood! Last year, the Ride of Silence took place in all 50 states and in 48 countries.
