On this day in 1980, Lipps Inc went to No.1 in the US with “Funkytown.” The song was also No.1 in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Norway, Australia and 10 other countries.

Let’s jump to this day in 1990, when Corey Hart, on his 28th birthday, married his first wife, Erika Gagnon, who designed some of his album covers. They divorced in 1994.

Speaking of marriages, on this day in 1991, Randy Travis married his manager Elizabeth Hatcher. They divorced in 2010.
