Today In Music History: 06/21/17

We start Today in Music History on this day in 1966. At the Marquee Club in London, guitarist Jimmy Page made his live stage debut as a member of the Yardbirds.

Rare Earth releases “I Just Want To Celebrate,” on this day in 1971.

We jump to 1975, where  Elton John, the Eagles, the Beach Boys, and Rufus played for an estimated 120,000 fans at Wembley Stadium.

Speaking of Sir Elton John, it was on this day in 1976, that his duet with Kiki Dee “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart” was released.

Madonna performed in Japan for the first time on this day in 1987.

On this day in 1989, “Hangin’ Tough,” by New Kids on The Block hits the radio.

The video features clips of Rolling Stone front man Mick Jagger doing his iconic dance moves. The song? “Moves Like Jagger” by Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera. It was released on this day in 2011. The song went number 1 and was nominated for a Grammy Award.
