Happy birthday to Huey Lewis, who is turning 67 today. His band has sold over 30 millions records worldwide, with three #1’s and eleven top 10’s.

We start on this day in 1962, when Little Eva appeared on “American Bandstand,” singing her #1 song “Locomotion.”

It was on this day in 1968, that Creedence Clearwater Revival released their self-titled debut album, which included the track that would become their breakthrough single, “Suzie Q.”

Police had to be called to calm a rowdy crowd after Ted Nugent cancelled a concert, on this day in 1986, in Virginia. So many people demanded refunds that box office workers ran short of cash.

Jermaine Stewart appeared on “American Bandstand,” on this day in 1986. He passed away in 1997.

On this day in 1994, Hootie & the Blowfish release their debut studio album, “Cracked Rear View.” The album has sold over 16 million copies and picked up a Grammy Award for “Let Her Cry.”
